Bless my little kitchen, Lord,
I love its every nook.
And bless me as I do my work,
Wash pots and pans and cook.
May the meals that I prepare
Be seasoned from above
With Thy blessing and Thy grace,
But most of all, Thy love.
I found this spoon rest one day at the thrift store. It is obviously very old, and it has suffered a bit of damage in my kitchen. I’ve glued and taped it to keep it together, because I so love the sentiment expressed! I think I found it shortly after we were blessed to be able to renovate our kitchen; and I do still love every nook of our kitchen–little by some standards, but really quite nice!
Oftentimes I love to be working in there, but I’ll be honest–sometimes my selfishness causes me to feel otherwise…. In those moments, I’m so glad that I can ask the Lord’s help, ask Him to give me a servant’s heart, ask Him to season my efforts with His grace and love!
